Mathematics and Science

The Mathematics and Science Group is for Club members with an interest in mathematical and scientific topics.  Four or five times a year we meet for a talk about a subject of interest to us followed by lunch or dinner in the Club House.  We have been privileged to listen to wonderful lectures by some of the leading experts in a wide range of areas including nuclear energy, climate change, astronomy, virology, geology and the origin of Homo sapiens, as well as fascinating presentations by some of the most promising young researchers.

In our early days half a dozen of us were able to meet over a drink, listen informally to a speaker and enjoy a meal round a table in the Coffee Room, but with increasing numbers we now use the King Edward VII or the Marlborough Room equipped with projector and screen.

Members wishing to be added to the Group’s mail list should contact the Membership Office on membership@oandc.uk.com
